Repair PDF
Rebuild a PDF from the pages macOS can already read. This can help with document structure problems while keeping a separate copy of your original.
Rebuild and save
- Choose Repair PDF and open your PDF.
- Click Repair PDF and wait for Result ready.
- Use the preview arrows to check the pages, especially any content that previously displayed incorrectly.
- Click Save PDF… and choose a new filename and location.
- Open the saved copy in the viewer where you encountered the problem and check it again.
There are no repair settings. The tool copies readable pages into a rebuilt document, preserving their order, and checks that the serialized output has the same page count.
Recovery limits
The input must pass DipperPDF's normal PDF import checks. A file that cannot be opened by macOS's PDF reader, has no readable pages, or fails validation cannot be recovered by this tool. Encrypted PDFs need Unlock PDF first.
Repair cannot recreate missing text, images, or unreadable content. A successful rebuild does not guarantee that every PDF problem is fixed. Check page content, links, forms, and other features before relying on the copy. Bookmarks and forms may change, and digital signatures will no longer be valid.
If the problem is page orientation or order, use Rotate PDF or Reverse Pages. See Troubleshooting if importing, preparing, or saving fails.
